I desperately need to know if Ella Fields is going to continue this series, because there were so many side characters that I loved and need to know more about. Even now as I write this, I’m wearing a big cheesy grin. Dashiell Thane is so much more than some cocky jerk, and the way he is with Peggy and his love for her is amazing. These two characters have gotten under my skin, and they haven’t let go. I finished this one on Friday, and I’m still thinking about it days later. There’s so much more that I want to talk about when it comes to these two, but I also don’t want to spoil anything for those of you who haven’t read this one! Kiss and Break Up will definitely be my top read of 2019, and I cannot get enough of Peggy Sue and Dashiell. However, when Peggy starts to branch out and date, Dashiell realizes that maybe his feelings go beyond just friendship and makes it his life’s mission to become Peggy’s boyfriend. Dash is like the annoying brother that Peggy never had, and she doesn’t want that to change. Over the years, circumstances surrounding their families and their lives have changed, but the one constant that has always remained is each other. Dashiell Thane and Peggy Sue have been friends since they were in diapers, despite the fact that Peggy had no intentions of EVER being best friends with Dash. Kiss and Break Up is a YA/NA book that takes everything that I love in a YA contemp and mixed it with the angst and storytelling that I adore in NA. Within minutes of starting this book, I had a stomach full of butterflies, a cheesy grin on my face and I might have squealed. Unless, of course, you want to ruin everything.Īctual footage of me while reading Kiss and Break Up You’re definitely not supposed to kiss your best friend while you’re dating someone else.Īnd the absolute worst thing you could do is fall for your best friend. You’re not supposed to kiss your best friend.

Until our senior year when I finally decided to dip my toes into the dating pool.Īll it took was one kiss for jealousy, lies, and betrayal to sweep in and propel us heart first into dizzying, hostile depths. Yet somehow, we’d been best friends our whole lives. He was an abrasive, demanding, conniving, intolerable brat.
